Georgia and stuff.
Submitted by BeThYbOo132 on Fri, 06/23/2006 - 17:45. BethSo beth thinks its cool that she can be in Georgia and still make a blog entry thingy.
Mackenzie sits on the couch and reads a magazine and doesn't think it's cool, so therefore doesn't want to write anything.
(She likes all that cool technology stuff, so she's kind of jaded.)
We're in Georgia, and it's storming. I was hoping for a tornado, but I don't think that's going to happen. It's been fun down here, and I don't want to come home..but we're leaving on Tuesday.
We went to the mall yesterday and saw Mission: Impossible 3. It was really weird being able to come back and see everything- alot has changed. They've cut down so many trees..apparently there's a new Kohls coming in and they had to clear an entire forest. I saw it, and it looks strange.
Since kenz won't write, I'll write for her:
This has been like SO tOtAllY awesummm!!! I like saW anna -n- stuff and we like went to the mall and chillEd.
Okay, that was fun.
Byebyebyee. I'm going to eat pasghetti.

12 Inches of Snow
Submitted by BeThYbOo132 on Sun, 02/12/2006 - 17:58. Beth
Last night, the forecast said we were supposed to get 6-10 inches of snow. Expecting four, we woke up to twelve inches of snow. After shovelling the sidewalks, we ventured out to the back roads to look at the scenery. We drove down a back road only to find that our four-wheel drive wasn't working. Driving East to find deep snow, we stopped at an Irish pub to fill our stomachs with Shepherds' Pie and Bangers N' Mash.
Here are some pictures of the morning of shovelling snow with Wishbone.

School starts on Monday..I have orientation tomorrow, at 7:30. I wasn't aware that time existed (?). 9th grade pictures are tomorrow too, which is kinda weird. I guess nothing's normal in public school, so what can I say? ;)

I haven't died...
Submitted by BeThYbOo132 on Sun, 08/07/2005 - 21:52. BethOkay, so since I haven't written in here in like..38439874984 years, I decided to. Purely of my own volition, I assure you. So anyways, what's new.
I went to California this summer, and that was fun. Uh. Oh yeah, Covenant. Last week my highschool church group (and I) went to Flintstone, Maryland. It's so beautiful up there in the mountains. Hopefully I'll have some pictures soon. The weather was pretty nice, so we all slept outside one evening and watched shooting stars. There was a really big one that streaked across the sky. I took some pictures, but they're on film and not digital..so if we get our scanner set up then maybe I'll scan them.
Until then, goodbye.

Submitted by BeThYbOo132 on Tue, 10/26/2004 - 08:51. BethEveryone receives equal food and allowance, but I am forced to put this on the website. Gah.
In 6000-2686 B.C., the first Egyptians began to settle along the banks of the Nile River. They eventually evolved from hunters and gatherers to settled farmers that irrigated water from the Nile. The Nile annually brought in a deposit of rich soil, which the farmers used for the crops. In April, the Nile was at its lowest level, which caused the vegetation to diminish and the game to move south. During the Paleolithic period, a revolution in food production occurred. The Egyptians stopped eating meat so much and switched to a more vegetarian diet. Plants such as wheat and barley were not gathered in the wild any longer, but farmers grew them abundantly as crops.
The head god of the Delta was Horus, the falcon-headed god. The name Horus comes from the Egyptian word ‘Hor’, which translates as ‘face’. Horus is crowned with the crown of all Egypt. While they reigned, Pharaohs identified themselves as Horus. After they died, they became Osiris, who was the god of the dead. The head god of Upper Egypt was Seth, who was the god of the desert, storm, and violence. He has an animal head with a long snout, and sometimes he has a forked tail. The king of the gods was Ra, who was showed shown by as a falcon crowned with a sun disk. During the day, Ra sailed across the heavens in a boat called the “Barque of Millions of Years”. At the end of the day, he was thought to die and sail on his night voyage to the Underworld. Ra was thought to have fought a snake called Apep, who was his chief enemy. Ra usually won, but on stormy days or eclipses, the Egyptians believed that Apep had been victorious and swallowed the sun.
