Serious Firepower in Iraq

One does not lose wars with this kind of firepower, one only loses wars when the will to properly use it is missing.

I would hate to be on the receiving end of this:

Montgomery County Indoor Track Championships

Mackenzie finished 14th out of 28 throwers at the Montgomery County indoor track championships at Georgetown Prep in Rockville this past Tuesday. She was the #2 sophomore and continues to improve, adding distance to her throw each week.

Trip to New Jersey 12-28-2007

The girls and I went to Chip and Tina Stevenson's house In Georgetown, DE for the holidays and decided to take a trip over the the Jersey side. The plan was to catch the 9:45 ferry to Cape May from Lewes. The only problem was that, upon arriving at the terminal around 9:20, the ferry was already sailing at its departure time of 9:15......oooops.

We decided to kill some time and go to Cape Henlopen State Park nearby. We spent some time in one of the World War II observation towers in Ft. Miles and more time exploring the fort itself, including Battery 519 under the Great Dune. See the Flickr photoset for pictures.

Finally we got on the ferry and sailed for Cape May.

Once we got over to the other side of the Delaware Bay we headed toward Hammonton, NJ to begin exploring the Pine Barrens of New Jersey- 1 millions acres of sand, pine trees, cranberry bogs and ponds with no way to travel the interior but Forestry Service fire roads. Although we were having too much fun to remember to take pictures, a general idea of what the "Pines" looks like is here:

Road on Botona Trail.

The truck ended up looking like this by the time we got done:

The girls slept the whole return trip as we decided to drive up and around to get back to Georgetown.

Mackenzie's Birthday - 2007

The girls and I recently celebrated Mackenzie's 15th birthday in a local restaurant - Buca di Beppo. We gorged ourselves on Italian food, enjoyed the atmosphere, got the whole room to sing "Happy Birthday" to Mackenzie and had our picture taken by the waitress.

She's fifteen years old.....boys no longer have cooties.

Meetup.com Ride to High Rock

Beth and I joined the Maryland Sportbikers Meetup Group for a ride to High Rock Overlook. While there we got to see a guy jump off the cliff.....and hang glide away.

And you think riding a motorcycle is crazy.
