Beth and Jeff go down to the River to Play

Beth and Jeff took a ride on the Triumph Sprint ST to Harper's Ferry and since it was 95 degrees out, decided to take a swim. Not having appropriate clothing did not deter us and as Harper's Ferry is at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah, we had our choice of rivers.

Here's Beth after climbing out of the river. It looks like she belongs in West Virginia huh?

Rolling Thunder 2007

On Memorial Day, 2007 Mackenzie and I rode in the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Rally. I am belatedly getting pictures up.

This is a pic Mackenzie took from the back of the Honda 919 as we rolled across the Potomac River on the beltway, headed toward Virginia. The amazing thing is that most of the bikes on the ride from Gaithersburg to DC were behind us.

The entire route from Gaithersburg to DC was blocked off as thousands of bikes rolled down I-270, around the beltway and up George Washington Parkway to join over 200,000 others in DC for the event to bring attention to POW/MIA issues.

The entire photoset is here.

As a Matter of Fact...

Jeff
If you are one of those drivers that plants yourself in the left lane, riding along at 60 mph and not feeling the least bit compelled to move over and let a faster vehicle pass, then yes I am one of those bikers that "weaves in and out of traffic" as I go around you.

Dad On The Fire Scene

When my father, Charles Stevenson, has nothing else to do he occasionally joins my brother Chip and runs toward burning objects.

This was a car fire in Georgetown, DE:

Here's Dad below:

You try putting on sixty pounds of turnout gear in ninety degree weather at seventy years old. Then go running around in that gear near something that is burning at around five-hundred degrees.
